This extension gives Sysops using the Hermes BBS, and who also run Macintosh FidoNet Mailer software Tabby , the option of turning off CrashMail during a local log-on. This avoids the problem of Hermes quitting while you are in the middle of posting a message or reading your mail when your system receives a CrashMail call on another node. Stop CrashMail gives you the opportunity to temporarily turn off CrashMail for the node on which you accept CrashMail calls .
Stop CrashMail only works when logging on with a Security Level of 255 and when you have the CrashMail check boxed checked in the Node Prefs dialog. This version of Stop CrashMail also only toggles the CrashMail setting for one (1) node.
Stop CrashMail asks you whether or not you want to turn off CrashMail for a particular local log-on session. If you answer “Y”, it turns off the CrashMail checkbox. If you answer “N”, it proceeds normally. In both cases, Stop CrashMail alters nothing about the normal log-on process.
If you decided to turn off CrashMail, Stop CrashMail is designed to set the CrashMail checkbox back to its prior setting upon log-off. Stop CrashMail is designed to set the CrashMail setting back no matter how you log off. The only time Stop CrashMail should not set it back is during a major Hermes/System bomb.
Stop CrashMail is released to the Public Domain, but all rights are retained by Currents! Technologies!.
